A liquid-bulk terminal stores enormous value in tanks — fuels, oils, chemicals — flowing in from ships and out through trucks and pipelines. Custody is everything: the terminal must know, at any moment, exactly how much of whose product sits in which tank, and reconcile every movement. Run that on spreadsheets and paper tickets, as much of the industry still does, and every day ends with small mysteries — evaporation, measurement drift, or something worse.
The solution
LiquidOps, designed for a liquid-bulk terminal operator in Colombia, is a full inventory backbone: tank-level tracking, movement recording, customer custody accounting, reconciliations, and operational dashboards.
On top sits the layer that changes daily life. Built on Anthropic's Claude, it lets an operations manager ask questions in plain language — "which tanks can take diesel next Tuesday?" — and get answers from live data. The same layer watches for anomalies a human would need weeks of ticket-reading to notice, extracts data from shipping documents automatically, assists with compliance paperwork, and forecasts capacity 48 to 72 hours out.
The engagement is fully scoped — phased delivery, a build price in the tens of thousands of dollars rather than millions, and a payback estimated inside 12 to 14 months.
